The European Centre on Geomorphological Hazards in Strasbourg is one of the centres working on the improvement of early detection and prevention of disasters such as floods and landslides.

The European Centre on Urban Risks in Lisbon, as part of the EUR-OPA Agreement, works on the prevention, protection and organisation of aid against major natural and technological risks such as earthquakes, landslides and tsunamis.
